To my Emeritus students - March 15, 2006

The student show at Emeritus is coming up this late spring. The drop-off days are March 27 and 28. I am hoping that everyone will enter something - whether it is accepted or not. This is a juried show, which, I do not really like - but - nevertheless, I would certainly like people to see the beautiful paintings that everyone in this class is doing.

When I spoke to you last week, some of you were hesitant about entering. Plase do not let the ways of the world turn you off or discourage you from participating. The way I look at things, it never hurts to put yourself out there. There is always something to learn from every event, and one step leads to the next one.

Whether you realize it or not, what we are doing in this group is truly quite remarkable and inspiring to so many people. It takes alot of courage and energy to get up and out there every week, and we are all to be commended for the effort. It is not easy to paint outside - and we keep doing it. We are really models for many people to admire and emulate

So let's put in some dynamite paintings. The ones I would prefer would be ones that show "place" - and, by that I mean , that show that we were painting on Santa Monica Beach, or this semester in the Marina. In terms of painting groups - ours is unique.
